yes , there are plenty of options and combinations, one of my main objectives is to get away from an adaptor plate and use a 320mm disc.
I'm not planning to please everyone.
Its only my version.

I have no plans to make a slider to accommodate twin discs. ....I should have the prototype 6 piston caliper slider set up ready to show in a couple of weeks.

Your endeavour makes a lot of sense. I look forward to have a look at the result.

BTW, hi to all. I am new on this forum, but have been contributing to the Norton forums years ago (notably, Brit-Iron).
This is my first Commando project. My location is Stavanger, Norway.

Just my 2 bits, But as I mentioned in another thread. The ability to run dual stock calipers (left and right) would be pretty cool. Obviously a new wheel setup would be necessary. but at the same time, a set of 4 pot brembos and a larger diameter rotors will be really nice also....I just dont like the Idea of getting to far away from the Commando "look". well on my '71 commando anyway.
wave rotors are fantastic ( I have them on both my Yamaha R1s) but (I )just dont think look right on a Norton Commando.
whatever the set up you decide, Cost for donor parts should be an important factor. somwhere between cheap and exotic.

well there is plenty on this site that do
my kit will only be an option for those who want to go that way, certainly not to everyones taste.
I'm in the middle of a 750 restoration, I wouldnt fit one of these brakes to that bike, but there are a lot of guys on this site who it seems performance is the main factor.

Then,,, they would have to be sold in pairs, but its a thought, of course we would get all the geniuses saying things like it would greatly affect handling becoz of the change in trail etc

here are some pics of my prototype brake upgrade kit.
PLEASE no need to tell me other people are making alternative brakes for Commando's.

it will be quite sometime before the kits are available,
I have a few other products to get off the ground first, but it WILL happen,
as an example, it took me 12 mths to produce the replica 260mm TZ350 4LS front brake, similar time to produce the replica early Commando front brake.
this Commando disc brake kit is not to bad as there is only 3 main components to manufacture.

something to be careful with is putting the Norton logo on any part. There is a high potential of copyright infringement with Andover Norton, and the New Norton Motorcycle company. I would assume they have protected themselves from infingement and don't want others to cause "confusion in the marketplace" by others selling goods with their name on the product. Corporations spend big money to make sure no one uses their trademarks or other copyrighted material.
Just giving you a heads up that can prevent a costly legal assault.

I'll tell you where the Madass come from.
You may have seen the Sach Madass bikes, usually available in 50cc and 125cc
I have 2, one is the 50cc model but its made in China with a 100cc engine, the engines are Honda copy engines,
I converted this one to DOHC and 125cc, top speed 80mph
the other one I have is a 125 model (Taiwan) bored to 140cc hence the Madass140, I fitted cam and carb etc , it has top speed of 80mph also

Madass,

Your TZ brake set up might get a surge in Australia, the rules have changed for classic racing to allow drum brakes of any configuration up to 290mm
I saw this in Old Bike, you may find this mag a possible forum for some of your products?
Cheers Richard

Wow Madass that is a nice front disc set up. Put me down for one but do take your time developing it. I'm broke right now any way!!!

NIce job; subtle. Double take to notice.

In my dreams I'd go for a slider that would accept a radial mount caliper off a common late model 600; radial calipers, of course, allow various disc diameters.
