Installing a new Boyer kit on the 71 Commando. The instructions are a little vague. Without a wiring diagram, I am not sure if the capacitors are still in line. Can I remove these altogether or are they still an integral part of the Boyer ignition?

Thanks

Bypass points condenser and the ballist resistor and can keep the big blue can capasitor or not, just acts as small extra fast battery voltage supplier in between the alternator pulses. Always Always be constantly pensive on when and where the Boyer supplied trigger wires will catch you out with intermitent copper inside insulation mysteries or dead in the water. There are upgrades to get or do yourself.

11. Remove all the low tension connections from the two ignition coils.

So pull and check oxidation-corrosions and tightness, and clean-up your ground point with a little die-electric grease. Boyers need a good ground or the trigger diode in the encapsulated black box will pack it in sooner or later.
