New Genuine 850 Commando Cylinder Heads Cost £997 + Vat So This Is An Excellent Opportunity To Get A Restorable Second Hand Cylinder Head. Never Fit A Pattern Commando Cylinder Head To Your Motorcycle Especially When Pattern Ones Cost More Than Our Genuine New Ones
So where is he getting these from?? Has a third supplier of Norton heads started up, or has he found a source of NOS heads?

So, are they NEW, or Restorable Second Hand?

Huge difference.

I have 3 restorable second hand spare heads on the shelf, one is an RH4.

I wouldn't believe that person if they told me what time it was!! Sour grapes and an ongoing grudge over the "norvil" trademark!!

Look at the heads they are trying to sell, they would cost £1000 to put right! :)

There were a lot of NOS heads floating about one time, especially RH6 ones, but they were all factory rejects..Buyer beware!

If one was to buy one of those why not just spend a little more and buy one of Fullauto's heads? They look like they would be the best way to go.

Thanks Keith, Yea the whole thing sounds fishy to me. What would that relate to in U.S. $$$$,? And then shipping. Matt has the Fullauto heads for 1996.00 and they are new.

I think the seller is referring to the Fullauto heads when he says , "Why fit a pattern head..."

Pattern. That's a little bit of a misnomer, no?

To me it looks just about worthless, it's been heavily modified to take those excentric rocker spindles and goodness knows what else.

Cash

I just looked at the ebay auction and it all now makes sense - this "restorable" head is being sold by Les Emery of "Norvil". He and Mick Hemmings are not the best of friends, to say the least. Mick is the UK distributor of Fullauto heads. Therefore, it's in Les' spirit to bash anything Mick does.

Mick walks the walk and will always get my business.

OOOH Homeslice

(I need to know why you use that name?)
I am with you & John (Seeley 920) when it comes to Les complaining about everything that Mick does.
However I have not gone so far as to bid against him when he is using one of his many e bay names to bid for rare Norton items, from people who do not realise what they are selling! Like someone I know!!!! Jacking up the price when they dont want the part at all!!! Cracks me up!!!
Makes me laugh everytime I think about it.
If only I had an old coach or steam train for sale!
I contacted Les for a Norvil (hehe) caliper fork leg at a very good price! When I asked why they were such a good price I was told they were rejects as they "leaked" but once I recieved my fork leg I could seal it myself!!!!!
See you at Pembrey. Just picked up my engine today. Yahoo!
all the best Chris
