Need info re: bike shipping from USA to England

I figure some of y'all do Isle of Man and other international races, and have the fast track on easy way to ship bikes to the U.K.

I'm trying all resources to ship my late friend's Rocket III to his friend in the U.K., and the quotes I'm starting to get back sound ridiculous at $2,800 - $3,200.

Help?

That does sound expensive. From Tucson to Brisbane Australia is $1500, but that's downhill all the way. (except Tucson to LA is up hill)
The race people usually have their shipping booked a long way in advance and usually share a container.
I booked from Brisbane so it might be easier and cheaper for your reciever in the UK to get prices?
It was a lot more expensive if I used a shipper in the US.
Good luck
graeme

The only bike I shipped to Ireland (Cork) from New York was $800.That was 4yrs ago.I dont think the price has changed much. If the bike is rideable there is a ferry to Swansea from Cork (Bike + Passenger is about $140).
