when i oppened the 850 dunstall front iso i found a hodgepodge, not sure who was in there but it looks to me like a mix of worn out parts. can anybody give the dimensions for the following front iso parts (1974 model)
1) front engine mount collar 06.0422
need dimensions for new iso parts

2) and iso end cap 06.0684
need dimensions for new iso parts

3) and the iso ptfe washers ; are they 1/16"?

the pieces that came out of the bike look 100yrs old, and heavily worn. i want to determine what new was for thickness

I would be more concerned with the Isolastic™ rubber condition be it deterioration or sagged..... and then buy vernier adjustable kits from RGM and be done with it until 2060.

you missed the point. rubbers were crap and have to be replaced, i have my reasons for installing a set of Mick Hemmings vernier. and needed to confirmation as i had two engine mount collars with significantly differing dimensions.

Back a step. Mick Hemmings has the patent for a vernier iso adjuster which can be use with original multipiece isolastic bushings, it replaces one endcap. the advantage is that the rubber buffers for the original isolastic pieces are softer which results in better tuning out of vibration. see here http://www.norvil.net/norton/mhiso01.htm.

so i don't have to buy an entire isolastic kit front and rear. however when i opened the front isolastic mount i found 2 different engine mount collars, (one was longer) and needed to establish which was the correct one. i suppose i could have just measured each piece for bolt collar and added them up. according to the frame dimension there is a little leeway about 6"+/-

Lastly, in the UK, Mick Hemmings is a respected purveyor of Norton parts, probably like RGM . I have never dealt with RGM. but have bought specialty items from Mick & Angela .
hope that clears it up. the problem with texting and forums is that sometimes that which seems clear to one makes no sense to another. live telephone is still the best.

The photos are of the end caps I removed when I installed the Hemmings adjusters. The tall one is from the rear, short one from the front.

The short one is a half inch not counting the small raised collar on the back side, overall it is.572.
The long one is .932 overall.

PS - These are from a '74 Mk2.

You are right that the phone still works best and with today's technology facetime is a brilliant way to help with technical questions that are best seen rather than described. I'm hardly a Norton guru but I do have an iPhone.
