N15CS primary cover

Outer primary covers with the outer bulge are for the N15CS and G15 series. Covers without are for the Matchless G12. Covers are not interchangeable, otherwise AMC wouldn't have made the later ones. The bulge was introduced due to the greater width of the Norton crankshaft vs. width of the AMC twin crankshaft.

G15/N15 primary covers are frequently advertised on Fleebay, some in rather poor condition. It pays to observe condition of the highly stressed primary chain. Ensure correct oil level, use a quality chain, and replace the chain at prescribed intervals. If the chain snaps, your primary covers will probably get smashed.
