I have posted pictures of the manifold here mystery-manifold-t23438.html can someone with a Dominator confirm or refute the fact that it is from a Dominator? Would it be possible to measure the stud spacing on the Dominator? if it is 3", then the mystery has been solved, if not...

This does not look like the early Dominator manifold to me, all of the contemprary photographs show a slab- sided looking manifold with bulges that conform to the inlet port position.

Norton pre downdraft.
C-C bolt spacing is 2.186" for 1/4" studs
There are 2 different vertical stud spacings depending on application 1-1/2" or 1-5/8"
I have 4 variants of this type of norton manifold. There may be even more.
Obviously yours is not one of them.

Still a mystery then :(

If not for a 500, then maybe for the 250 or 350 twins which had a single carb.

It looks very similar to a Matchless or AJS twin manifold.

I thought that to but at the moment i am rebuilding an AJS 650 for a friend and the lower mounting holes to the barrel are closer together than those at the top. Not equally spaced like the ones on the mystery manifold. The smaller AJS and Matchless twins also have their mounting holes on different centers top and bottom.

I have just seen an add on Ebay from someone in US who is sell twin carb manifolds which he says are for AJS twins. The pictures show these manifolds on a pair of AMC twin heads and the top and bottom studs seem to have the same spacing. So maybe early heads or some specific models had such manifolds as the one you have as the rest does look like its AMC twin.
