Hi all, can anyone help me find brake shoes for a twin leading shoe brake plate i have for my Triton , the shoes were sent away some years ago to be relined and got lost in the post on there way back to me, i have tried numerous shoes including triumph and norton but nothing comes close , i have never known who made this plate , but i have just seen a picture of it in the paul dunstall 1969 catalogue in the(usefull commando imformation) section if anyone would care to look, i would love to get this plate back on my Triton so any help on this would be very much appreciated , it is very similar looking to the Bsa Triumph plate that was around at that time but that shoes dont fit , also if it helps the plate is in the standard 8" dommie hub . Brian

Hi chris you click on norton commando motorcycles and its the top one its called usefull commando imformation

Is there any possibility it uses the same shoes as Unity Equipe's twin leading shoe conversion for Nortons?

Are you in England? I have no idea who you'd go to there but over here I'd try sending a picture to Vintage Brake.

Hi, Scotland actually ,i have tried everywhere i can think of over here over the years with no luck maybe its time to try further afield do you have an email address for vintage brake Brian

Hi , cant seem to get anywhere with that unless i am doing something wrong

hi brian, cant say ive ever seen the tri bsa plate fitted to a norton hub but i have seen one fitted to a velo so im sure it can be done , maybe they are modified tri shoes , vintagebrake email i have is info@vintagebrake.com, might be worth ringing mick hemmings to see if he can shed some light on it

For some reason the link bracket went on the wrong side, I fixed it I think.

Seems like they partially missed the point. I thought the idea was to see if somebody knew what would fit.

I have to say, if I was Dunstall I wouldn't have had special brake shoes made.

Maybe someone like this could help:

hi triton thrasher, i agree with that there was enough 2ls brake brake plates around without modifying tri bsa ones?

hi brian, have you had any luck with the brake plate yet,i went to the beezumph rally at cadwell today and saw what i beleive is a brakeplate identical to yours ,except the outer edge had been scalloped,it was fitted to an early trident,it was parked next to a few other tridents and rocket 3s, and they were different in the linkage and cable entry departments, i hung around for a while hoping to speak to the owner and came back to it a few times but the last time i came back it was gone, the guy is probably a member of the tr3oc, might be worth giving them a try,
