My late wife bought this box of bits for me for our first wedding anniversary in 1982. It was last on the road in 1987 and for some reason decided to throw it's oil return line out of the block on the crankcase with disasterous effect. It's rebuild has been put off for too long and for numerous reasons but I've now run out of excuses.

26 years of Royal Air Force Engineering is a hard habit to get out of "A place for everything and everything in it's place" seems to help during a project.

willy mac, even if life intervened and you got a late start, very nice follow through. You've got a stunning bike there buddy, happy trails !!
I'm retiring from U.S. Naval Aviation Maintenance and we use a system called ATAF (All Tools Accounted For), part of it is painting contrasting silhouttes where the tools are stored, that way when the job is done, it's quick to identify if anything is missing and possibly still on the aircraft. Everytime we move I tell myself I'm gonna do it in my own garage, have yet to actually get it done though and consequently my work space ends up a bit disheveled, but.....one day.....my garage will be squared away. We called them Shadow Boards, and I've been meaning to do the same to the workshop! Now that the JPN is finished I might just get round to it?
