The guy in the photo has bad posture.

I guess his mother never told him to sit up straight like mine always did (not that it helped me much...)

I would put my money on the KZ off the line...in the twists...come on, there's no comparison!

Sherlock Holmes has deduced that the norton rider is smoking the fag, so...

Nice KZ.

Who won?

Considering the insanely jealous look on the other rider's face... I'd say no matter the outcome the Norton owner still won.

Yes but I bet the KZ rider couldn't stop laughing when the side stand bolt broke spilling smoking norton rider on the ground :p :p

Just because it happened to you doesn't mean it happens to everyone.

Great pics!!!!!
I was in high school in 1978 and rode a 71 Triumph Tiger 650 w/ 6" over stock front forks.
Same long hair and cigarette too but no beard, baby face.

the 70's were a great time for me.i wish i could do it all over again.but at 54 years old it would kill me.
the side stand bolt never broke because i took of the norton side stand and made a bracket that i bolted to the bottom of the frame and i mounted a triumph side stand on it. i could kick start the bike on it,soild as a rock.
the kz 1000 was faster then the norton.so much for the good old days.

Shit. I was in Kindergarten in '78.

Good on ya, mate. I'm always glad to see the (relative) youngsters interested in these old beasts. If ya weren't, who would us old geezers sell to when we get too old to kick them.

Those along DogT's shot are awesome and classic 70's. I love the look on the kawa dudes face and the laid back coolness of the norton riders. DogT that pic on the S is priceless..........

Well, I hope to have a newer pic soon with about 20 more pounds on the gut and hair mostly in the nose and ears, but the 'S' with the exhaust shields on. I remember taking them off, they kept falling apart and more than once burning some pants.

Probably not possible, but you should have the picture taken in the same spot, same pose that would be the ultimate before and after.

It is possible, that house in Greenbelt MD is most likely still there, my first house. It's about 60/70 miles away from where I am now. That would be cool if I could get it up there. I'm not sure the neighbors up there would appreciate the Norton much, don't know the neighborhood anymore.
