Hi again!

First of all, an apology..... I seem to have broken a cardinal rule by not posting pictures of the many boxes that this project started out as!

So far, I have calculated, about 65 hours have been spent on the rebuild, and she is beggining to take shape! I have taken a photo to show how she is coming along! I must be enjoying it as my beloved 'blade has been relegated to the driveway!

The one problem I have at this time is trying to figure out what on earth goes here.....

To say there are a few bits missing is an understatement, but this really has me baffled. The bike does not have an electric start, so would this just be a blanking plate?

Thanks!

Exactly what it is, just a plate to cover the hole the mag used to sit in. The later bikes have a different casting, why they didn't re cast the crankcase without the need for a blanking plate from the start god only knows!

The hole actually is a left-over of their first attempt to include an e-starter and larger than the mag hole. Nicely explained in some books and by Dynodave:
