Hi hobot.
Q.What did you give them - blood from an arthritic lawnmower?
A. Read my post again - the answer is there.

Q. That's a lot of downside factors to accumulate so soon so will this motivate you to do some more [fettering?] or just carry on?
A. Actually a significant two (2).

Q. Definitiely interesting but would need to use same lab to compare sensably with others and a lot of reports to get sense of what's Norton normal rather than just common.
A. Wrong. Any standard lab tests of oil should be for the same things.

My results show I have a basis for overhauling an engine i.e. science is proof with significant confidence while belief is confidence with insignificant proof.

Please don't add further opinion: Get your oils analysed and post the results for comparison.

Temperature sender at outlet of oil tank (i.e. prior to entry to the engine).
Oil thermostat (fitment after oil filter) is visible forward of rear mudguard (behind gearbox).

Removable GPS speedo display (day mode shown) - fits between gauges - doubles as phone, camera, etc - uses bluetooth for map directions to helmet and onboard diagnostics. Tyre/wheel changes or mechanical wear do not affect accuracy.

@needing please excuse my ignorance, but why have your posts been edited with "ta" ?

It has made an otherwise really interesting thread unreadable?

Thank you for the kind words about this thread.
More details of my bike will follow as I implement further enhancements to improve it's robustness and longevity.

Onboard Diagnostics OBD looks like this now. I use it for tuning and can switch to this screen from the GPS speedo to check if there is a change in operation e.g. say idle revs fluctuate.

I'd like to know that too.

usually or often involves some beef, unless it involves something like a hijacked or compromised account, usually the poster is history

A friend's fuel tank. Stainless steel mesh covered rocker feed pipes put an end to his ride today.
Fuel is leaking from the hole. Earlier wear is also evident.

Disappearing ink. Covering ones tracks. Most forums do not allow editing of posts after a certain period has elapsed and there is a reason for that.

What hardware have you got on the bike for this to work? Is there some sort of module with a few AD converters and some sort of standard OBD output?

It is pretty handy, the ECU in my range rover will do this, and can be tuned with the phone as well. Very similar ECU to Jims EFI Commando so I imagine he could do the same

It hadn't escaped my notice either and a PM was sent to the person concerned about a month ago instructing him that he should stop doing this.

Hi Cheesy.
The hardware is a commercial available board - input is via serial cable - output is via bluetooth - I use android as visible in the screenshot.

Do you have any links to it sounds interesting?

Hi Cheesy
A search in the Google Play Store using "gauge car" provides a range of options to investigate.
Search "engine diagnostics" for a range of post 1996 vehicle OBDII apps (just for interest).

Yes I have seen plenty of them and they sound hit and miss, also I dont know of any Commandos with OBDII outputs :D .
That is a neat wee board though, it looks like it has a few similarities with the Megasquirt hardware, although there probably arent that many cheap components that are suitable for such things so that would explain it. My setup uses the same Bluetooth adapter and an app called MS Droid on the tablet
