muffler burn pictures

finally figured out how to stop this after the 4th time!
PANTS!

i find it hard to keep my pants on in this weather!
happy riding mike

I did the same leg same height a little to the left last summer tuning a BSA in my shorts. It took a long time to heal. At first the bandage would tear of the dead skin, this hurt but kept it clean and removed the dead skin witch is the enemy Causes infection. I washed it each night with alcohol and used a few tubes of antibiotic ointment on it. mine was deeper and took 40 days to heal up from the inside out. I had someone to help hope you do as well. It won't happen again to this guy. It hurts just thinking of it again.

Even here in the deep, deep South, I don't go riding without ATGATT (All The Gear, All The Time).

Got a Triumph 'Rochester' mesh jacket for the ten months of the year its above 80F, perforated leather jacket for the other two months. Always wear at least heavy denim jeans, usually kevlar-reinforced.

Had to lay down my Speed Triple two years ago when someone made a left directly in front of me. Ruined my boots, jacket, helmet, pants and gloves. Got a quarter-size rash on my knee where the pants wore through.

Sore as hell for the next month, but didn't need to nurse my skin. The driver paid to replace the gear and fix the bike (frame sliders kept damage to a minimum).

There should be a law aginst posting photographs like the one of the Commando during the Northern European winter.

My problem is that if I put on all the layers that I want to, I can't lift a leg over the bike.

Are there people on this forum who don't know what it's like to put on thermal vest, thermal long-johns, t-shirt, shirt, pullover, leather jacket, leather trousers, bib and braces and quilted-lined waterproof jacket...and then find that the keys are in the inside trouser pocket ? :)

Probably never ridden in mittens either !

Come on now, We just had a big storm move thru here the last few days, And it was raining like cats and dogs. Maybe it don't get too cold here but we have stupid drivers ALL YEAR!!!!! I really feel for the guys that have to put the bikes away for the winter that must be hard. I really don't know how I would manage without the weekend ride. As far as burning my leg goes, Not yet but the wife did it on the Buell when I had just returned home and thought it would be funny to pretend she was riding it with shorts on. Still has the scar, Ouch!!!! Take care guys and have a great day, Chuck.

79X100, I remember all of that, plus putting newspaper down the front of my clothing to try to keep out some of the wind, also not drinking too much tea because it took longer to disrobe to relieve oneself than it did to get to your destination!. This is why I now live in Hong Kong where we can ride all year round. I do however subscribe to BillT's philosophy of wearing protective clothing even for a run down to the shops.

I went to college in New York (Troy). I know what winter can be like, that's why I live in South Florida!

Too cold to go in the pool today, though :(

this pic. was taken 1 block from my house jan. 20ish 2week heat wave. funny thing feb.14 took a ride with a friend up the mountain in back ground of pic. ran into snow at about 3200 ft. and 35 min. from home did not figure on that pleasent surprise turned around to steep and slushy about 1/2 mile from top. have couple pics on phone maybe some day i figure how to download. dont see the snow round here much ride safe!

Where is here? Kinda looks like my neck of the woods. You do look a little proud of the moment in the picture, Nice bike. That looks to be the same color as the bike I caught my Norton virus from, Back in the 70's a guy a few years older than I had one just like it and he used to tease me by going up and down the street at full speed. When he would come home I would go over and just sit and stare at the bike. It was like the coolest thing I had ever seen at the time, And the sound was just pure magic. And now I have two and my sons both want a Norton, I hope they never find a cure!!!!!! Ride on boys and girls. Chuck.

In no way is that crazy, When I think of the things we did on highway 39 and Ortega highway you are well inside the window of sane. Never was I saying you were crazy, Just proud. I sometime think we have a little different take on things here in California. Someday we need to ride, Take care and ride safe, Chuck. P.S. They have a ride at Hansen Dam each year, 400+ bikes each year, Whata think?
