Modern Spark Plugs for an Atlas

Surely someone has an opinion, experience, or data regarding a modern spark plug for our old venerable machines. Anyone want to comment?

The new pair of NGK B8ES plugs I installed work perfectly. Not sure its a "modern" plug as its not made of Platinum or Palladium or Unobtainium but they're under 3 bucks and I kicked over my Atlas yesterday with flip-flops on. H.
