I have been offered a 1951 Model 7 project. $4000 Opinions?

Condition ??

I might be biased, having 3 or 4 such bikes/projects, but that sounds pretty cheap.
Depends on where you are though, they seem less valued in some places.

They don't have Commando performance, and it would be a mistake to judge them like that.
They have pleasant old-time woofley charm though, if you can pobble along the back roads.
And attract some attention at bike shows, being the granddad of the Commando...

Depends too on how complete it is, the big chunky parts are getting noticeably tougher to source.

Beware relying too heavily on this publicity pic, its a bit inaccurate in some details...
Model 7 project

I bought a '57 Model 77 project, similar to the 7, for $3000 a few years ago. It had all the parts though a
few were from other years, engine does not turn over and a limited market here. So $4000 could be reasonable.

I am passing this along as I have too many projects already PM me if you want any more info.

I have the engine rebuild receipt ($3250) \
The rims and tires are brand new. Let me know if you're interested.
I have a 1951 norton model 7, most of the parts are there. motor has been rebuilt at a cost of $3250 , 0 miles.
Asking 4k, let me know if your interested.

With a totally rebuilt engine, if it was done correctly, $4K sounds very fair.
