Hello fellow MKIII owners...
I held off until this actually was sold on ebay this aft.
There is a question in my mind as to authenticity.
Two pic's are attached. One from the auction and one from my hibernating motorbike.
How can the difference of the "kill switch" be explained?
I know the switch actuator color is different, but what about the positions?
The owners manual suggests off-run-off for the switch positions, was the Canadian model offering different.
Which is period correct for US domestic market? off-run-off or simply off-run?
I just know some of you have the answer, any experience is appreciated.
All the best.

The "OFF-RUN" version switch is from a late model electric start Triumph twin.

I don't believe that switch assembly was ever used on the MkIII Commando originally- only the "OFF-RUN-OFF" (06-5929) type.

I think only the OFF-RUN (Triumph 60-7462) version is available (from Sparx) as a replacement part.

Yes, that should still be red. Possibly the switch has been rebuilt with a black (turn signal) toggle from a L/H switch assembly?

Thanks for all the replies LAB.
Yes I also suspect the turn signal toggle has been used as a replacement.
I was also hoping that some early production units were black buttoned then Lucas went to red as an after thought, but alas...
Thanks again.
All the best.

My "75" Mk111 850 E.S. has the red button "OFF-RUN-OFF" & the Canadian headlight on Low Beam all the time. :?:
