A friend has brought a Mk111 over for repairs and his console lights are out except for high beam blue.
How do you get these lights out for testing and repair please?
so looks like you have to pull console and then twist turn these lights out?
How do you disassemble the lights to replace a "pea" bulb?
To make it easier, the warning light wiring is a sub-harness that can be unplugged. The rubber cover over the ignition switch can be removed and the bezel/nut unscrewed so the switch can be dropped out without having to disconnect the switch wires Edit: except perhaps for a double white wire?removed two lights today, removed console bolts, moved it up with wires attached, disconnected MK111 battery, pulled wires off two warning lights, used hook tool to reach in and pry the spring nut from the back.
So what does the 06-6393 "warning light control unit" do?
Can this 06-6393 be the cause of non working console lights?
I would rather put in fresh clear warning lights
I suggest you fit super-bright LEDs (along with a resistor) and relieve yourself / your friend of any future trouble.
Can't vouch for compatibility with the assimilator, probably ok as the assimilator is a solid state component.
The base of the P&K warning light has been unavailable for years - I'd be surprised if Fair Spares stocks them.
