How would you go about it?
1.Simply machine and slug, weld, and machine again the rear timing case or
2 remove rear timing case and weld on rear from left over 750 case I have laying around.
'75 850 and '68 P11 750 to use.
Thanks for the time to reply.
I have done it both ways. Cutting the piece from some scrap cases and welding it on was the easiest . Too much material needs to be added to the MK3 cases. Jim

Thanks Jim, that's what I was thinking but have never done it so was looking for wisdom. I assume that you used the outer cover to align and weld. Any case distortion problems to deal with after welding?
I actually drilled a piece of 1/4 steel plate that covered the rear half of the timing chest and bolted it on to hold things straight during welding. I veed it out and did all the welding from the outside a little at a time. It stayed pretty straight. Jim
