Mine shifts perfect. Other than the fact it's on the "incorrect" side. In comparing it to a RH shift Norton, I might say I can feel a slight bit more in travel of the lever both up and down, but I think that's just a little play in the splines of the cross shaft. Very minor. Possibly here or on another forum, there was someone talking about applying a coat of JB Weld to the connecting joint and then pushing both shafts into it. I would think you would have to have a situation with severe play or wear in the splines/joint before that would be necessary. And it would seem like it would play hell to get apart later.
