MK3 neutral light issues

working on a MK3. Just fixed the neutral light.
It works fine on the 1st switch position but on the 2nd position lights work but the neutral light goes off.
I've gone through the switch wiring, don't think there's anything wrong.
Any suggestions of what to look for, I'm sure it's switch wiring.

Is it just the neutral light that's affected at the 2nd (clockwise) key position? Does the ignition, charge warning light, brake light, horn, etc. still work normally as they are all (should all be?) fed from terminal 2 of the ignition switch?

The bulb?
The switch?
The wiring?
Other?
