MK3 gearbox

is it possible to make a MK3 gearbox into a right hand shift if I have an earlier gearbox too? I want the neutral light

It's certainly possible to convert a MK3 gearbox to right shift by using the inner and outer cover, and appropriate shifter bits from an earlier gearbox, and you could still keep the neutral light if you wished. I've done it in the past with no problems.

Or, if you already have the 750 gearbox, just use a MK3 shell, either way you'll need the MK3 camplate as it has the button on it to make the switch. Quadrants are fitted differently but either will work.

That's good news..I have the MK3 shell and 3 other gearboxes. Just wanted to find out before I disassembled everything.
