Hi All, is it ok to drill/tap the end of the swing arm for a grease nipple, if so, any particular place?
Also does anybody have a recommendation for a bar end mirror that doesn't blur?
Thanks in advance, Paul.

Little to no blur at any speed.

On the mirror front, Napoleon mirrors are the best traditional type.

On the grease nipple front, there's a felt disc behind the cap and a felt wick in the swing arm spindle. Getting the oil past these to the far bush will be difficult.
The usual recommendation is to take the cap off and punch holes in both felt parts.

To put grease through middle of swing arm spindle is big No No,
unless you have modified, opened up the tiny spindle oil holes
or move then to allow some grease in the bushing space.
Factory put a zerk on RH spindle cover to pump OIL in not grease.
Its not designed nor able to really hold oil long just stay wet
with residuals and eventually be too dry worn to remove spindle
w/o destroying-distorting swing arm.

My solution to the drool and low maintenance long life is
tap through swing arm and its outter bushes and place grease
zerks there, RH on 90' aimed straight out and LH 45' aimed
back and down to reach with grease nozzle.
Stays lubed essentially for ever if just sitting and gets
a squirt or 3 during times of usage. I scrolled the bushes
to allow better grease spread.

The MKIIA has a strange setup that uses the MKIII felt wicks and welch plugs but retains the center fixing bolt at the top of the pivot tube. A fitting on the welch plug would be useless, as the oil would never make it past the wicks. Only way to oil these is to take the bolt out of the top and squirt 140 wt down there.

In theory, the bushings are impregnated with oil that provides some degree of lubrication.
Mostly, putting oil in the spindle cradle creates both the vain hope some of it goes down the tiny holes on each end, and also serves primarily as an additional source of drooling oil down on the frame and garage floor.

Annual spindle removal, inspection, and light grease.

My mk2a has the same pin/bush set up as previous mk1-2 850 and nothing much different to my 750's that i have.
