Hi ,
was wondering does any one know what the factory paint specs that were from new for the speedo and tacho pods , I think matt black but not sure also the frame ,engine cases g/box triple trees rear drive spocket and disc rotors . If any one has these I would be gratefull as I wish to re paint as per original or at least same paint colours and finishes , thanking all Norton Dave .

The other night I was looking at mine and wondering just what they used. It is
pretty thin, nice, almost like anodizing. They are just a bit glossy, not flat, eggshell maybe,
enough to be smooth. Seems durable too. Mine are original, 1974.
Tempted to powder them gloss black but will likely leave them be as they
are original and presentable.

+1 - Mine are original to a '75 MY, and I guess I would say satin or some other description between matte and gloss/sem-gloss.

I use a satin black on the instrument cases, "aluminum" Rustolium on the yokes. I keep the cases and head clear of paint since I've not found anything that holds up to tickled Amal carbs.

Rustoleum satin black for gauges and Rustoleum "dull aluminum" for the yokes and other various small bits. Even bolt heads sometimes. It does standup to the heat on ugly exhaust nuts too.
