In my fine tuning I'm still trying to redress a slightly inconsistent richness on the primary side, only appears at idle. Carbs are dialed in, ignition is good, timing spot on, head is good.

Plug gaps, currently running .030 which doesn't present any issues, though I still have the slight "flutter" at idle on the left pot (it's richness, I know). I thought it might be a misfire, so I closed them down to .025.. no change, though the plugs were noticeably richened up and she seemed less spunky. Emailed Trispark, he suggested closing down to .024...

Running trispark with new dyna 5ohm coil, new HT leads, resistor caps, NGK 7's. I can't find a gap recommendation on the Dyna site, though they do note to run .028-.035 with a 5ohm coil and their ignition system

?

Use the recommendation for the coils, though a few thou isn't going to matter.

Your Tri-Spark would prefer 3-4 ohms of primary resistance. 5 is within spec, but is on the upper edge, 6 ohms will produce either a no start or poor running, especially as RPMs increase.

Thanks, running the same dyna coil on my bonnie with no issues, but that's with a boyer.. I hadn't considered that I may need a different coil.

There's more to an ignition coil than just primary resistance. The Dynatek coils make lots of spark. The efficiency of their magnetic core seems to be the key to their performance. The TriSpark should be fine with it.

good to know, I found it odd that they only supply dual output coils in 3 or 5 ohm configs, but maybe that's all they need to
