So, I have a Stock 1987 T4 Carb - Mikuni 34mm Round Slide and the rubber attachment part is cracked and I cannot find the part on the web. The image is blurry, (camera woes) and it is positively identified as a Mikuni T4 81 as stamped on the carb. It's an older carb and hence my follies as far as not being able tho find the part.

Or....Since I'm restoring/rebuilding this Norton, possible upgrade to this carb? replacement maybe?
Any expert help/opinions would be very helpful. Thank you in advance.

PS: Also, any idea where is a good place to buy steel braided fuel line for this carb?

Skyguyz, In my opinion, a single carb setup for a Commando is a downgrade rather than an upgrade.
I experimented with a single carb on my bike, and was disappointed with the result.
If improved fuel economy is your aim, than this may be the way to go, also the lighter throttle operation is a plus,
but be aware that top end power will be significantly reduced with any single carb setup.
Just my 2 cents worth...

Please note that the rubber flange for the 34mm carb mounting holes are 60mm on center and the one for the 36mm carb is 70mm on center. Refer to your manifold for proper fit. It gets a little pricey having to get onother manifold, but they sell easy enough if you need to.
Experience speaketh!

Yes I also believe that the 34mm is of medium body size ( as used on the 30-34) where as the 36mm is of a larger body size ( as used on the 36-38 ),
giving larger dimensions all over including the inlet O/D size.
Let me know if you can't find what you want over there, I may be able to help.
AC.
