Micro power ignition

Boyer Micro Power ignition requires a CDI type coil, of low impedance around 0.6 ohm. That is different from the usual 6 or 12 volt “Kettering” coil.

I believe it can sometimes use two CDI coils in series, when you have four plugs in two cylinders.

Boyer Micro Power is still best avoided if you have any alternative.

I had a Micro Power blue ignition box that worked temperamentally, then went completely dead. That was about 16 years ago.

This year, my friend bought an XS650 that was running badly. He fixed it by renewing the Boyer Micro Power blue box.
