Gents,

Do any of you live within short riding distance of Route 66?

I’m doing the Chicago to LA cliche this summer with a buddy, we’ll be riding rented Harley’s though rather than Norton’s!

Just wondered if I could meet any of you boys en route? We’ll park the Harley’s out of sight...!

I am here. Chicago area . That is where I met Richard Pearce 2 years ago.

Hi Eddie i did it in 91 with my wife on a Harley cost a fortune then think the company i used was called Cruise America. When we arrived in the States they only had a Gold Wing even after i called them two days before we left to check everything was ok.
That said we loved it we have done two major rides around Australia on Harleys each time we took 6 weeks of work same when we did the States.
The people in the States were the most friendly i have ever met could not do enough for us, you will love it just remember there is not a lot of Route 66 remaining.

I realise the Old Road ain’t what it was, but it doesn’t matter to us. It would be kinda dull being on ONE road all the way. At least we’ll have to get the maps out and, hopefully, we’ll get a bit lost, take a few detours etc to add to the fun.

At the end of the day, it’s about meeting people and seeing places and riding motorbikes!

Honest mate you have the right attitude just go and enjoy it there is no such thing as a bad tour. We have toured all over the world on bikes and cars we tend to make a hobby of it , one of the benefits of no kids decided to travel instead but my no 1 place is the States. Wife of to Australia in March on three week holiday her family live there so want my bike before she goes.
