Got a rattle in the rear drive from the plate under the Cush drive center. It's a bit annoying, but can I fix it by tightening the driver center lock ring?

Or, should I just ignore it? It's certainly not fatal.

Could be anything from the paddles beaten loose to busting up bearing or trash caught up. I ignored mine as 1000 miles from home, till standing on pegs at 90 mph on seamed cement the dumb axle broke and bearing spilled its guts. I'm still here so agree - it wasn't a fatal over sight in my case. Speedo drive may be part of it.

As it's a MkIII, that will be the cush drive back plate [17] rattling-which is annoying but it's not dangerous.

The cure is to stick the plate in the hub with silicone sealant or a similar adhesive.

That's it! Simple solution is a bit of silicone between the thin plate and drive center.

Just sitting here with nothing to do, rear wheel apart, the odd snow flurry outside. A late fall Sunday.
Cheers!

That is indeed it!!!!, I cut slivers of inner tube and glued it to the plate where it touches the hub... sorted!
