Mark lll Exhaust Gasket??

The parts book does not show an exhaust gasket for the Mark lll. Instead there is a split ring and collet shown.

Is it useful or even possible to insert a gasket too?

The MkIII has a conical seating ring onto which locates the swaged end of the exhaust pipe. There is no advantage whatsover in fitting a gasket behind it but if, for some reason such as an exhaust port thread repair, the nut bottoms out too quickly, a gasket behind the seat can restore clearance.
