Hi I am from nz I'm wondering if anyone has used map longstroke rod and piston set on their comando. Also wondering about using their high performance street cam.thanks .

I have a set of the long rods from them for a '79 Triumph. I was fully expecting big end clearances between .0008 and .0009; both sides came in at .0009, excellent. If there is a caveat, they were fitted to a Falicon 76 degree offset, one piece crank.

I have had to grind clearance from the right crankcase of two 750 Nortons to use their standard forged rods. I would have preferred a set of OE type rods, but the set I got from a large supplier were egg shaped with the long part of the "egg" was between the cap and beam at the split. A very unimpressive .002 difference...

Should be a good fit in your 850, great opportunity for dynamic balancing too.

Best.

HIGH COTTON info at the link below:

“Started a small vintage motorcycle parts business based in Chongqing China. Responsible for all of the design/engineering work. Also responsible in directing other purchasing agents in the procurement of the vintage motorcycle components. Have designed and supplied US based distributor with forged connecting rods and various intake manifolds. The connecting rods were designed complete with FEA analysis. Manifolds were designed using CFD analysis. Looking into expanding into the procurement of specially design crankshaft and cylinder heads. Parts are being sourced from different suppliers around various parts of China.”

Might I suggest you take a look at JS Motorsports website. Top quality parts & well proven in many road & race bikes. I have a set of JS long rods & lightweight pistons in my 920, & will be ordering another set for my Atlas this winter.

Martyn.
