Manxman

Whatever happened to the first bikes that Norton shipped over to the US when they first entered the US market - the "Manxman" bikes?

I've never heard of them but apparantly they were 600cc Dominators with high bars etc..? Any ideas?

You may be interested to note that Manxman was also the trade name for rebuilt Atlases with hotter manx-style engines in them. Nevil Evans made these bikes for road use until the 1990s I believe.

Bob Dixon of windcheetach.co.uk in the Manchester UK area bought the rights to produce Nevil's Manxman a few years ago. He had some great plans to build up these manx-style road bikes, however with the 9/11 disaster and general economic malaise, he has had to focus on his high-tech bicycle business instead.
