MK 111 needs a replacement small switch . I'm in Toronto and don't need big shipping costs for this small switch that says Magura on it . . Is there a replacement equivalent , I would assume in Metric thread , activated by the front brake lever ? I think the whole MC is Gremeca with floating AP disc .

Hi. i have a Magura 13mm master cylinder and required a replacement switch.
I originally purchased the unit from VenHill in the UK, but they don't carry replacement switches, So they put me in contact with Magura UK to find a UK dealer.

This link might help Treatland. I have no idea what their shipping costs would be, or if they would ship to you. I bought my little switch for a cable operated Magura brake lever from them.

Who was the UK dealer that you got the switch from?
Thanks,
Richard

Thanks . The switch I'm studying to buy states 1/4 inch . (Treatland TV ) . Domino Brake light switch-open- black button , off in paused position .
Is the thread size 1/4 inch , I thought it would be Metric sized . Also I'm studying Magura rubber brake switch cover .

On in paused position is another version of it and more likely what I need . I'm now assuming the tiny plunger fully extended is paused position .

You've probably already taken care of all this by now, but just in case....

Paused (ON) is, as you suspect, is with the plunger off the fully compressed state, or fully extended. The brass switches listed on Treatland as 1/4 inch x 6mm length for Magura brake levers work in the Magura cable perches. They probably are metric. Not sure why Treatland mentions 1/4".

If you have a metric thread gauge the switch should have .8 mm pitch. 32 TPI SAE is very close for checking over that short 6mm length.

Rubber covers for the switches are further down on the switch page at TreatlandTV.

I'm using the brass switch with the longer separator between the poles, but either of the brass switches listed for Magura levers should work. The little spade connectors are fun. Unfortunately, I can't remember if the switch came with the tiny female spades. I may have soldered wires to the little male connectors on the switch.

I haven't decided what to do yet , only pulled the small switch and electrical taped up the 2 small wires to it and cable tied to the bar . For the moment . The rear stock Norton switch works fine so I'll use / apply both brakes simultaneously until resolved .
Can't comprehend why a big company like Magura would say 1/4 inch , likely a typo issue with Treatland TV more likely . More soon .

So what is On in paused position . What is off in paused position . What is paused position ?

Button not compressed is "paused" the way that description is written. When you pull the lever to use the brake the switch is in the On state (closed circuit) and the brake light should come on if wired correctly. It's just a simple one wire In one wire Out switch, and Closed if the button is not compressed. When the lever is not in use with the switch installed correctly the button should be compressed and the circuit Open (Off state). Probably not helpful. I don't do techno speak. Plus I may have confused myself, and I might be talking about a different Magura switch for all I know. :)

Ordered in 2 covers and 2 switches grey with white plungers paused out , let's see if they or one works in 10 days . Hipster TV site sometimes hard to understand , all hipster skater wording .

Yeah, it's a scooter vespa moped site run by younger guns. Reasonable pricing and a different humorous mindset from old white hairs. I've got the white hair, but kind of understand the lingo.

Makes me feel young agin ' .
Norton and myself off to the Caledon hills tomorrow for brook trout creek fishin' in a heat wave .
Campin' under the stars too . Open style .
Caught my limit within 2 hrs. there .
The switch . Today in the mail from Treats T.V. 3 switches and 2 rubber covers . 2 are grey plastic type and the other is brass body type . They thread in fine , but summer solstice day sun/heat drove me in to Central cooling . Will try again when light drops to check brake light activity or not .
Another drive up to Caledon tomorrow for more trout bum bushwackin' before the developers do their thing rippin' up the place . Our Premier wants everything developed including the in perpetuity greenbelt .

So ... the Magura front brake switch works great . It's a newer improved design , grey plastic but a bit larger with a good lip to hold the rubber boot better . Thanks to those who helped . Thread over .
