Magneto impulse coupling

One thing is essential about ignition timing whether it is a curve or static, once it is set and the carburetors have been tuned to suit the timing and compression ratio - the timing must remain stable.
For road work, it is not so important as long as the carbs are jetted a bit rich. But for racing getting the jetting lean enough without doing damage, is important. Those three things are in balance, changing an exhaust system or fuel, can also require re-adjusting the balance. I usually do it by raising or lowering the needles in the carbs. I have a non-programmable Boyer on my bike, I avoid disturbing the rotor.

Does anyone know if you can fit a dominator timing cover to 850 mk1 cases? I just like the look of it after mounting the SR2, which runs great by the way :-)

These are 850 cases and the timing cover I believe is either dommie or Norton atlas
Note the timing cover fits but the crankcase must have been beefed up later in production as the crankcase flange is wider than timing cover at the top/ front part of the casing

Thanks, would not have expected that. Not really a nice look. Another issue is that the over pressure relaese valve of a 850 cover dumps in the return line, of a dominator and the 850 mkiii dumps in the case. I think it should work with the old cover, if one blocks the extra hole in the rh case. Is that right?
