Mac brand two into one mounting bracket question

Does anyone have any thoughts on the best way to mount the muffler on the right side? Metal to Metal, metal rubber metal? its a mac brand two into one on a 71 750 commando. If so did you build a bracket? Pictures?

On my 71 it's mounted to the Z plate using one of the smaller original brackets and a rubber as used in exhaust and head steady. Having said that, it's not a perfect fit, and I hate the system and plan on binning it as soon as I have enough cash for a proper stock setup. There seems to be no way to obtain proper clearence between the kickstart lever and the muffler without the head pipe rubbing on the frame. If you want a photo I can post later.
