Sorry if someone has done this but I can find the answer, does anybody make a rear luggage rack for mk2 with the single seat, am planning on doing a bit of travelling next year so will need to carry a bit of kit.

I fit a tail bag for this purpose. If you want I can send you details.
Raphi, Switzerland

Hi There was a previous thread where someone has adapted a Triumph one. I prefer throw over bags and Jofama make a range in varying sizes.

Nice picture Graham;-)
Looks like Swiss weather.
And yes, that was the thread and I have the Cortech 14L tail bag.

Thanks for the replys, yes I had seen the triumph set up, but I am after something a little more stable, I am looking at the soft luggage but don't want to mark the paint with straps, thats why I'm after some type of rack so everything can be strapped to it.

The side (Triumph) style is very stable as it also takes their large leather and nylon bags.
But yes it is only 2 bolts in the end.

Good news on Norton is you can use both sides as opposed to my Scramblers one :)

Hi If you use a non slip luggage cloth then they do not leave any marks.

Hi Raphi thanks I have a few more of the day!!! or few hours at least. Great place to meet for lunch just not that local for me.

Hi glb, in the past on my other bikes ive always used duct tape on any painted areas then none slip cloth, so it looks like thats the way to go.

I have the Cortech tail bag too. I use a neoprene mouse pad under it to prevent scuffing and wrap the nylon straps in microfiber.

Daft question, what sort of weight are you all carrying strapped to the hump.

Never weighed it but enough clothes and toiletries, tools etc for 10 days in Europe. It was heavy.

Hi Ya,don't overlook a quick release tank bag, this one is the givi 308 ,which worked very well for me in the summer,it comes complete with a power pack ( with USB points & a 12v con ) use the battery fly lead supplied & connect with detachable plug on the handle bars, handy for charging phone/sat nav/heated clothing etc, this did carry a lot of weight,I stored tool kit/first aid/security padlock/disc lock/puncture repair kit/bunch of loose coins & more, must of been 7 to 8kg, the almax padlock was 2kg on its own, the adaptor for a triumph 1050 is needed & u need to make up a spacer to make it fit the fuel cap.

Has anyone looked into mounting side bags . This makes the most sense to me especially if you have the single seat Commando. The upper shock mount and the muffler mount will make it easy to install and remove for those long trips. Couple that with a tank bag and now you've got enough space to get along without touching the paint.

Problem glb, I have a single seat version, as for the triumph classic rack system can't find the racks by them self's. So have ordered the kriega set.

Hi GKRyder , Do you have a picture of those racks mounted to the 961 ? Thanks .

Would love to supply pic but bike is with a dealer.
Oil leak...

I actually have the Triumph rack on the 961.
Only difference is a slightly extended bottom tab.

It fits to top of shock bolt and bottom to ,in your case, I'm not sure as would not have pillion pegs so perhaps exhaust mount?
You need to ever so slightly expand the 'u shape' of the rack.

Stylish kit with leather bag but not serious carrying capacity kit.
Thinks beers and a toothbrush and you get the capacity.
