The size of the screws on my 1974 850 taillight lens are 6-32 UNC (or 6-32 NC) x 11/16 of an inch long. It is also a pan headed screw that was originally chrome plated. I hope this helps.
If you are getting any parts from RGM they do a kit of stainless screws for the rear light with light screws and the screws for rear light cowl.
I got one they fit just right they also do other screws an bolts in kits for different parts of bike.
