Lucas short stem indicators

What , if any differences are there between the ' Lucas' red boxed short stem indicators and the green boxed short stem indicators.

I don't know the answer specifically but I did buy some with short stems to fit on the front and couldn't use them because the thread was different to the headlamp thread. They were pattern ones, as effectively they all are now, but can't remember where I got them from.
