I currently have a LR on my Combat with Positive ground.
Can it be used with negative Ground?
Or is it polarity specific?

You need the "bistable" version of the RITA AB11 Amplifier, which is not standard in the Commando kit.

It has yellow markings/paint on the casing.

Thanks...

What is that thing on top side of the bottom on the upper picture.
Is that part of the 'bistable' package.

It's a ballast resistor - used on some bikes (like the Guzzi) as well as some triples that have 4 volt coils.

The Commando doesn't use the ballast resistor.

Same for 43 years..
I've had Lucas Rita for longer than I care to remember 👍
I changed it a couple of years ago to one of the "Rex's speed shop" ones because I thought it'd use a little less amps at idle
But it made no difference,I still have the original bolted on next to the new one just incase
