swapped out the ignition switch on my '72 to see if that's the reason my tail light doesn't come on in the 4th or all the way clockwise position. i now get the tail light, ignition, pilot light, and switchable headlight. am i supposed to have the pilot light in the 4th position? i thought it only came on in the 1st or parking position. i'm running a 20 w halogen pilot light and if i'm running the standard 48 w headlight, tail light, and boyer will my stock alternator keep up?

had to send the lucas switch back for a replacement as the receiving detent for the lock cylinder was drilled way off center so the lock pin won't seat. how can this stuff get by q.c.?

thanx, rick

Yes, as the pilot light does not have its own circuit from the Ign. switch, but is part of the tail/instrument circuit (Brown/Green, - Ign./Sw. Terminal 3).

You could always wire up an additional switch to isolate the pilot when you have the headlamp on?
