lucas 17m6 and 17p6 coil difference?

17P6 (and 17P12) are 'high power' coils.

So would an m6 and a p6 coil be compatible wired in series on a Lucas Rita set up? As i am using this at the moment and have a problem with it cutting out on one cylinder when under load ? Cheers

I don't know. Possibly.
Is it always the same cylinder that cuts out?
If it is, have you tried swapping the coils/leads/plug caps/plugs?

Not had any time to swap or check anything yet but it looks like a possibility,many thanks LAB , cheers

Baz,
I used a tool similar to this to show a bad coil. I also think if you can use an induction timing light to pickup an intermittent spark.

Just swapped the p6 for an m6 to match the other one and the misfire under load has now gone ,the bike is now running superbly
