Man My front brake squeals loud! I tried putting disc brake (anti-squeal grease) between the pads and the pistons, but that didn't work. My neighbor who also has a 75 says his ar ethe same way. Is it just a "Commando thing"? Any fixes?

My MKIII would make alittle noise from time to time and that was with the OE Lockheed pads. What I did was to turn the chrome plating off the disc, front and rear, and have used EBC, or Ferodo pads, no more noise. Plus the cast iron surface is better than the chrome that wears off after 10.000 miles.
Alittle paint on the edges where the pads don't contact the disc will keep them from rusting.

I had the same problem on my bike but a thin layer of copper grease on the rear side of the pads made it go away.
Might be worth a try?
