HI all , I have just come across a Black 1970 Norton Commando 750s in a storage facility in Queensland which is being sold to recover unpaid rent on the unit,,i know we have seen it all on tv and it don't happen here but here is the machine in the same situation, I got a phone from the guy who was cleaning out the unit, he called me before it seen the light of day after some 6 years in lockup, I am a Norton owner myself and now it looks like I may have twins, The thing is that along with the bike there was a trophy from the HVNOC from 2002,,its a twin points ignition holder plate with points screwed onto a polished bit of timber ,there was also some photos of the bike in QLD ( Sorry cant say were ) would any members know anything about this bike or what award it took out, for my part I love the history of the machines and were its been and what its done, thank you

I believe (in the US) that when VINed vehicles are found in these auctioned storage locker scenarios, that the vehicle must go through a separate sale only after the VIN has been cleared through the legal checks.

Good luck with the bike. It's always good to get another one road ready.

If you think learning to post pictures is hard, then you better stay away from that Norton.

Hi Bruce, welcome. Any pictures?
,,,If I only knew how to post them up,,,

If you can email me the pictures i will post for you!!

Just do a simple REV'S check thru local transport as you would buying any unlicienced vehicle to determine if is "legal" and not stolen.. If its all clear and clean then its finders keepers.........

Any time I am in doubt when it comes to doing the right thing I reverse the situation.

I have a lock up that I pay a year ahead each December as I have done since 2007,the door on it as far as I know was opened for the first time since then last month (to fit an alarm)
I hope scavengers have not gone through it given its contents,I personally would want to find the owner or situation of that Norton before claiming what was not mine.
It is very easy to track people down these days (if you actually want to)

Well, the Nortons home in my shed, the storage people done all the checks, its paid for , I have the receipts,,now the fun starts,,,

Critical thinking is not the long suit of some of the forum members, Bruce. Computer savvy is not a necessary part of maintaining a Norton.

Hi all, I have a problem with the stop light on a 1970 750s as in, when it should be off its on , and when it should be on its off, all the other lights work fine , its got me buggered,,,,help

Im sorry to say but that certainly does not look like an abandoned bike to me.
That is a 10-13K bike in Aus any day of the week.
doesnt matter if the storage company says it is collateral for back rent. That is a process that is undertaken through small claims court.
i would think long and hard before getting too excited about what was the ethical thing to do here

It could be set to activate the demolition charge .

Could be deceased estate , or one of those imprisoned bikies .

Well if it is a deceased estate then it rightfully belongs to the estate
It should rightfully be returned to the estate or at the very least offered to the estate pending liability for the back rent on storage.
I love a bargain as much as the next man but where there is a sniff of "bending the rules" I have two things I don't fuck with, motorcycles and musical equipment.
