If you had a Fluke, you'd remember not to do that. The fuses are about $30 each. But then the meter also beeps at you if it's in the wrong position, so it's rather difficult.

Thanks for all the feed back. I think that I'm making myself blind to the obvious. The meter is a cheapie from harbor freight and luckily it is not blown. I switched the leads and bingo--- got a reading at the white wire on the back side of the master switch of 12.7 volts. I'm now thinking of using the white/yellow wire under the tank instead of the white wire up on the ignition switch. This should help with keeping it dry when the weather turns wet. Again thanks for the input. Cj

Things are going well, just putting the finishing touches on the ignition "sub-harness"with a little heat shrink over the grounding wire then a bigger one over the whole thing. Using the white/yellow wire from here worked out the best. IMHO.

Hard to believe it went from that to this!

Harness installed and the optical encoder disc in place.

Used a plastic stay from one of my kids kites to find TDC and then rotated the disc until the LED light became illuminated and then locked it down. After that I closed the garage door and turned of the light. Kicked it over and there was that beautiful spark!!

No I didn't get to that yet dirtymartini, I just hooked it up to the -12vdc for the standard curve. Yours looks like a pretty clean installation, can you flip that toggle on the fly so to speak? Cj

So to speak...I haven't tried it yet. It's right under the tank where I can reach it. I don't know if it's ok to do on the fly, I didn't read anything that you coudn't though.

I've had a ton of trouble getting this video to post, but here is a clip of my bike starting after sitting dormant for so long!

LOL! yeah man tell us how ya really feel! I've committed to Power Arc too. You will blow them away too with such a unique sight and sound.

I thinks so too hobot, Hey drop me a PM with your mailing info so I can send you my old AAU, it seems to still be in good condition (the odometer only shows 7500 miles).

Good one CJ, if you would have given it a good kick the frist one it probly would have started, now enjoy it over in Japan.

Thanks Ash, In the instructions for the powerarc it say : "With the ignition off, kick the bike through until you have the crank in the position that you normally like to start your kick" That was my "virgin moment" so I don't have a position that I normally......Well ,I do however intend to find that position somewhere around September time frame. Cj

Most of us move kicker to max resistance approaching TDC compression to kick through that for most speed/momentum on next TDC and less chance of injury to kick back on half fast follow through, like the first learning curve kick that almost worked the first time. A good tuned Cdo with great ignition should just start with a mere step on first time. Tickle some is normal for dead cold starts but after that likely not needed rest of the day unless total cold again and pilot mix chamber empty. There's no reason to avoid togging the ignition curves on the fly just a change in power curve to suit your mood and octane.

I'm still trying to get over my initial and ongoing recoiling at the terrible decay and intense recovery efforts, especially the switch gear and wire clutter F^^k.
I love to see others successful efforts but makes me feel so incompetent so often.

Thanks speirmoor, Now I can't wait to put my JSmotorsport flat slide on it....but that's for another thread entirely. Cj
