looking for a gear lever for a 1959 jubilee

Can you describe/measure the diam of the splined bit on the gearbox ?
Or just photo it with a scale.
Not knowing Jubilees.

It is separately being discussed that gearlevers for the (earlier) laydown Norton boxes are totally unavailable.
(But cutdown levers from WD Nortons will suffice).
So maybe Jubilees are something common with something else ?

spline out of gearbox approx. 15mm dia, sorry I can't post a photo as I havn't got one,the original Norton book says it is part number 0614499,I can say it is for a unit constructin gearbox no a laydown one and the lever will need a sharp 90 degree turn outwards immediately after coming off the spline to clear cases hope this helps

Just out of curiousity, how does an AMC gearlever go for fit, they are about 15 mm ?

At a pinch, they could be heated and bent further, although obviously the chrome would likely then need to be redone.

If no-one is stocking them new, and the Indian repro merchants aren't churning them out,
then they may be like laydown gearbox levers = rocking horse manure, you have to use what you can find ?
Good Luck !
