Hello all.

I'm currently trying to revive a 1971 A65L lightning. I actually had it running a few weeks ago and then the project turned south.

First issue was leaking petcocks, followed by fuel leaking from the ticklers on the carbs.

Those issues now resolved, but during the repair process one of the swaged ends of one of the throttle cables came off.

At this point I've decided that I might as well just replace all the throttle and choke cables but ill be damned if I can find a good illustrated parts catalogue with actual part numbers to refer to.

The existing cables are on their last legs and are badly deteriorated. In retrospect, thinking I could keep using them was overly optimistic....

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance

FWIW both Venhill and Flanders sell kits and parts to repair and/or make clutch and throttle cables. You need a solder pot to do it right but I've improvised with a black iron pipe cap and a propane torch and had good results. Anyway you can make good quality cables or fix the existing ones fairly easily and it is a good skill to have in a pinch...

There is a parts list here: Broken link removed

That catalogue is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much for the link. It will make this "revival" so much less complicated.

Actually I did consider going with the repair route but the truth is I'm hopeless at this type of intricate work. I ended up buying a pair of them from factorymetalworks.com

Very reasonable I thought at $9.99 each. I haven't received them yet but I'm confident they will do.
