Very good - although I'm sure you misspelled Garner... and it was many patrons and investors! It was by DH Lawrence and was about a Gardner who screwed his patron!
while juggling these push rods with 3 hands.
Don't know if it is his real name, or is it a she?Thought I contributed to a thread started by a T E Lawrence this afternoon , guess I was day dreaming ? Thanks for any explanation ....
Robs SS, I didn’t want the pun to be too obvious so used something in between gardener and Garner. The patron in Lady Chaterly represents everyone who got screwed!
Only open on Thursdays, Fridays, Weekends & Bank Holiday Mondays. Was Clouds Hill open?
My only time seeing a Brough was on the way to the Isle of Man in 1978. I’d never even heard of one at that point and never noticed what George Roper was pulling his side car with.strange coincidence on the day, but some time ago I was browsing a bookshop and bought a copy of the Seven Pillars of Wisdom thinking it was something I 'ought' to read. Walking back through town, I heard some interesting bikes, and one of them was a Brough. First (and only) time I have seen one on the road. (other bikes were a Vincent and a Commando)
Still haven't read the book....
