Top speed: 305 km/h (190 mph); 1/4 mile: 9.57 sec @ 251 km/h (156 mph); 0–100 .... 3-times British Superbike Champion, Niall Mackenzie's S1000RR review ...

I never though I'd be tempted to drag race elites like this but online calculators imply power/wt ratio to get 9 sec 1/4's, if I can hook up Peels power. She has tuck down Hot Shot device to stifle wheelies, if that can help hook up a 5" wide drag slick, if not may only have a 10 sec sprinter. Look in youtube for 10 and 9 sec motorcycle dragsters to see what this looks like, whewwee. I had a mid 10 sec sprint Norton so have a sense of it already. A dual engine Truimph w/o wheelie bar on 4" slick got into upper 8 sec 1/4's.

Was in Motorcycle Mechanics ( motorcycle maniacs magazine , around 1970 .still gottit in the scrap book )

IT IS USUAL to use a Two Speed ( O Drive of Rambler in Hogslayer , or Laycock De Norman of say a Jag or Triumph ( car :p  )
THEN the problems THE CLUTCH , a slipper as it were , to maintain the r.p.m.s IN the POWERBAND . etc & the like, & suchlike .

Now , if you had Cork friction lineing in the Clutch , it would probably be adequate . Try and Gander at some old Triumph Pre-Unit friction plates .
Theyre light weight , as the cavitiies for the corks prolifigate .
Boil Corks to soften , plug in with teaspoon handle ( blisters after a few sets maybe ) and lathe flat to thickness required .

Fed In progressively ( released ) the feedback & control is unmatchable . Youll only scorch them if you slide it under power if ratios unsuitable .

Theres a thing .

Not dragster but very interesting entertaining side line I passed on to other lists and friends to savor.

I can practice a bit of over powered tire spin when on THE Gravel, Depending on wind and slope I can get spun up crossed up a bit going straight ahead and actually get better stability over the rough stuff by spreading the tire lines a inch or two wider. Also gives better traction on the rolling stones so can climb faster. This means going scary fast to me 60-70's before loose enough to get set up to hook up for more. Terror part happens when letting off for something. I'm trying to keep reflexes and attitude refreshed for the future needs of speed. Eveballed some 16x150 meats today.
