Is there any better deal I could hope for? The guy says they're new and that works out to $72 shipped which seems reasonable..

Thoughts?

The ebay seller says:
all parts are reproduction parts unless otherwise stated.

That K/S shaft is half the price of the genuine Andover Norton part.

Maybe not so cheap if you have to replace it again!
My experiences of buying "cheap" Norton parts have invariably ended up more expensive and more hassle in the long run!

hi there, i had bought one looking like this ( brownish coloured) though i do not remenber from what ebayseller in UK , but it was impossible to fit the kickstart on it: the OD of the splined part was 3/8 " bigger , still in my shed and will see if one day i could do something with, may be it was just the one out of spec and the others were OK????

Ugh, I really hope this isn't the case for mine or I'll be sending the stupid thing back. It's been pretty frustrating trying to find a replacement kick start shaft. I'd think that might be one of the more available parts out there, but I guess not. :(

Hi Jordan,

What's the reason for replacing the one the bike came with?

Some jackass forced a (non-Norton) kickstarter on to the shaft, likely with a hammer. The splines are all goobered up.

RGM has them too, but at about twice that price, roughly same as Andover. A used one from Fred/Ella is your best bet. I bought a used fork shifter from them and it was fine. Surely Hemmings would have it too, or Burton Bits.

Well hopefully this UK one works out. If not, I'll resume searching. :/

I'm sure I could probably make mine work as well with some careful filing, but that just seems like a sketchy idea.
