Exactly.Every bike requires a different starting technique. My 1975 RD250, a couple of swift kicks. 500 Goldie ease over compression, then a long kick (or pull in the decompressor, spin over with the electric start and release the decompressor)
With Amal concentric carbs which do not have a dedicated start circuit it is essential that the pilot circuit is perfect. The non removable pilot jet is prone to clogging, use a 0.016" drill bit to clean
