When setting up the timing on my new Pazon, I noticed the kick starter was kicking in 1st, 2nd and third gears but not op. I also noticed teat when the kick starter lever is held back slightly there is no kick back. My gearbox had new bearings and bushes fitting to it about 5 years ago. I always noticed it kicked back after that, but often when finishing a ride I noticed the lever was held back when he kick pedal turned inwards and got stuck behind the r/h rear isolastic nut. I am still thinking about what is going on here but would appreciate anyone commenting who has had the same problem and figured it out.

Roller layshaft bearing? How much end float?

Usually a kicker that starts doing wierdly things with a mind of it's own is an early indicator of imminent layshaft bearing failure followed by destruction. Don't ignore it , I would open up the box.

The gearbox has got the superblend lay shaft bearing in it and all other bushes and bearings were replaced or within specs. The fact that it doesn't kickback when the lever is held back a wee bit is quite strange.
